After many years Aditya Chopra is returning to direction. And it’s not hard to guess who will be his film’s hero.
Aditya has so far directed two films – Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge and Mohabbatein – both of them starring Shah Rukh Khan . And now, after a gap of nearly eight years, the Chopra scion is ready to step into the director’s shoes again.
What we speculated a fortnight ago has turned true. Aditya has reportedly finalized Shah Rukh to play the leading role in his next film, which is titled Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi .
However, contrary to speculation, the film will not star Rani Mukherjee but a new girl opposite King Khan. The newcomer is yet to be finalized.
This would be the third consecutive film featuring SRK with newcomers. First he teamed up with 11 new girls in Chak De India . Then Deepika Padukone was introduced in his Om Shanti Om .
‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ is a love story written by Aditya Chopra. The film will obviously be produced under Chopra’s home banner Yashraj Films .
The film’s shooting will begin by the middle of this year.
Since the release of ‘Om Shanti Om’ and since SRK declared himself “jobless”, Aditya Chopra had been very keen to rope in the superstar for one of his projects. And given the poor performance of YRF’s movies last year, Aditya apparently decided to return to direction to bail his production house out of the mess.
