Pakistani actress Meera has expressed her interest in playing the former premier Benazir Bhutto in any film on the slain leader.
Pakistan’s ‘The Post’ newspaper quotes Meera as saying in an interview that she would be honoured to play Bhutto if the role is offered to her in any film based on the life of the Pakistan People's Party leader who was assassinated in December last year.
Meera, who began her Bollywood career with Soni Razdan’s film Nazar , said she would visit India within the next few days as she had signed two movies in Bollywood, one with Abbas-Mastan and the other with Mahesh Bhatt . The launch ceremony for these two movies would be held in Dubai.
Karachi-based Skies Unlimited Films has already announced plans for making a movie on Bhutto's life in collaboration with Bhatt. Indian actress Shabana Azmi is also in contention to play the role of Bhutto because of her thorough understanding of politics.
Back home in Pakistan, Meera has completed work on five movies ‘Khulay Aasman Kay Neechay’, ‘Dil Kya Karey’, ‘Shah Jee’, ‘Devdas’, ‘Haseeno Ka Mela’ and ‘Miltay Hain Dil Yahan’ and they would be released soon.
