Penelope Cruz could be Hrithik Roshan's heroine

Penelope Cruz, the Hollywood actress of Spanish origin, might soon act in a Bollywood film with Hrithik Roshan .

This could be a great casting coup. The blue-eyed pin-up boy of Hindi film industry might pair with the Hollywood stunner for a film to be produced by Rakesh Roshan’s company Filmkraft and directed by Anurag Basu .

For last one month Basu and the Roshans have been searching for an international actress who could speak Spanish.

The film is an action-packed love story between an Indian man and a Spanish woman.

Tinsel town is abuzz with talks that the Roshans and Basu have zeroed in on Penelope Cruz for the part.

In fact, Rakesh Roshan and Anurag Basu are in Los Angeles and the duo is learnt to have already had a meeting with Penelope. However, she has not yet been signed for the project.

Besides Penelope’s interest in the project, many other things like her acting fee, her dates and the shooting locations need to be sorted out to get her aboard the project. It is a tedious process but Roshan senior and Basu seem determined to sign her.

If Penelope agrees to the project, it would be the first time a top Hollywood actress would be romantically paired with a Bollywood superstar.

Penelope has been nominated at Oscars and Golden Globes for her performance in Pedro Almodovar’s film ‘Volver’. She was part of the Best Actress ensemble award to ‘Volver’ at Cannes Film Fest in 2006.

Hrithik, on the other hand, has won numerous awards back home in India. He is presently busy promoting his latest release Jodhaa Akbar .
