HOME | SCOOP!! & NEWS | BOLLYWOOD Bipasha Basu to play an NRI bride!18th Feb 2008 23.47 IST By ApunKaChoice The Bollywood bombshell might play an attractive NRI bride of a man trying to shun priesthood. Bipasha Basu can make many a man want to give up the life of celibacy. And she might play the object of affection of a man intent on giving up priesthood in an English film to be made by a director named Raza Mallal.
Titled, ‘Quick, Slip Me a Bride’, the film will reportedly have Bipasha playing an NRI girl, who lives in Yorkshire along with her family. Anupam Kher will play her father. The protagonist of the story is a man named Jack who agrees to an arranged marriage with an Indian girl in Yorkshire because he wants to avoid priesthood at any cost. But the prospect of marrying an NRI comes with strings attached. Jack has to learn everything about Indian culture, from food, festivals and Bollywood films to Hindi language. The movie is a comedy about how Jack goes about getting a bride for himself. Reportedly, the film will feature a number of English actors like Ross Kemp, Amanda Holden and Robert Hardy. While Anupam Kher has given his nod to the project, it is still not confirmed that Bipasha has agreed to play the female lead of the film.
