HOME | SCOOP!! & NEWS | BOLLYWOOD Sonam Kapoor with Shah Rukh Khan – Aditya Chopra ne bana di jodi!18th Mar 2008 22.00 IST By ApunKaChoice If reports are to be believed Aditya Chopra’s search for a young heroine opposite Shah Rukh Khan in his next film has ended. It is being touted as the most anticipated movie of the year. Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi has Aditya Chopra returning to direction after a long gap of eight years.
Without even reading the film’s script, Shah Rukh Khan agreed to be its leading man. And a search was going on for a suitable actress opposite king Khan. Reportedly, Aditya Chopra, who has also written the film’s script, wanted a Punjabi girl, someone who is tall, fair and good-looking. Auditions of many girls were carried out but none fitted the bill. It took a while before Adi reportedly realized that Sonam Kapoor was the girl he was looking for. According to a Mumbai tabloid, Aditya has had meetings with Sonam and her dad Anil Kapoor and she has been finalized for the film. However, a formal confirmation is still awaited. If yes, this would be a big boost to Sonam’s acting career. The girl has tremendous luck to work with some of the best directors at the very beginning of her career. First it was Sanjay Leela Bhansali in Saawariya , followed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra in Dilli 6 (which Sonam is currently shooting). And after this would be Aditya Chopra’s ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’. Aditya has been so excited about this film that he requested good friend Karan Johar to give him SRK’s dates for Khan so that he can begin shooting ‘Rab Ne’ in May this year. Yashraj Films aim to release ‘Rab Ne’ on December 12, 2008, during the Eid-Ul-Zuha weekend.
