Bollywood and cricket are two things Indians are crazy about. And Shah Rukh Khan is at the helm of both of these.

The superstar of Bollywood is now displaying his business acumen after acquiring the Kolkata IPL team, Kolkata Knight Riders that has some of the topmost cricket talents like Sourav Ganguly, Ricky Ponting, Shoaib Akhtar and Ishant Sharma.

And in the days leading up to the upcoming Indian Premier League tournament, SRK is apparently leaving no stone unturned to promote his team. He has produced music videos, roped in designers like Manish Malhotra and Anahita Shroff Adajania to design the players’ dresses, and has now launched his team’s website – http://www.kolkataknightriders.com.

In a television interview, SRK acknowledged that he has put a great deal at stake for his IPL team. The superstar also admitted that he doesn’t have the financial muscle that the corporates who own other teams have, and if his IPL team does reap profits in a year, he would return back to films full-time.

"It's not a winning business at this point in time...I won't be able to survive unlike other corporates in this business...So if it doesn't work for one year, then I'm back to basics...I'll be doing my films again," he said.

"I hope that kids who are 12 years old now and are Kolkata Knight Riders' fans remain so when they are 22. So, the whole idea is a long dream and I hope it gets fulfilled," SRK said.

Meanwhile SRK has already got some competition, though not much, from Mithun Chakraborty , who has bought the ICL team Kolkata Tigers.

And on Monday, Akshay Kumar became the official brand ambassador of the Delhi IPL team, Delhi Daredevils.

Well, it’s a cut-throat world out there and SRK has comfortably got his feet in two different boats. Even if one sinks (though it’s unlikely to happen) he still has the steady boat of Bollywood to return to.
