Lara Dutta will be Govinda’s leading lady in two comedy films.
The pairing is quite unlikely. She is a glamourous, mod woman and he is a desi munda. But that is what filmmakers like David Dhawan and Ravi Chopra hope to cash on.
Lara Dutta and Govinda have worked together in the films like Bhagam Bhaag and Partner but they were not paired together. Now, for the first time they are cast opposite each other in Ravi Chopra’s Banda Ye Bindaas Hai , which is said to be an authorized version of the Hollywood movie ‘My Cousin Vinny’.
Lara has a very substantial role in the film. She plays the character enacted by Marisa Tomei in the Hollywood comedy.
After Chopra’s film, Lara pairs up with Govinda again in David Dhawan’s next comedy to be produced by Vashu Bhagnani. The movie, a typical Dhawan-Govinda slapstick, will also star Ritesh Deshmukh .
Many in the industry believe that Lara is the only actress who can match the comic timing of Govinda. She has previously shown her comic flair in films like No Entry and Jhoom Barabar Jhoom .
Lara is presently on an ‘Art of Living’ workshop in New Zealand, the Fiji Islands and Australia.
