Initially it was reported that Sonam Kapoor has been finalized to play the female lead opposite Shah Rukh. But that turned out to be incorrect.
Aditya has reportedly auditioned many girls and has zeroed down on three newcomers. One girl is named Simran and she is from Punjab. Another is a Mumbai girl. Not much is known about the third gal.
The three girls are presently in Mumbai, doing screen tests for the film.
However, Aditya has not been able to take a final call on who will eventually be SRK’s leading lady in the film. So, he asked SRK to choose one.
But SRK says he is “not comfortable” in picking his heroine out of the three girls. So he has passed the buck back to Aditya.
Aditya plans to begin shooting ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ from May. He is aiming to release the film in December this year.
