The fourth of July this year will see a battle of debutants at the marquee.

Beginning their respective acting careers on the day will be two promising newcomers – Imran Khan and Harman Baweja .

Imran, who is Aamir Khan ’s nephew, will make his debut in Abbas Tyrewala’s Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na . The movie, an Aamir Khan production, also marks the directorial debut of Tyrewala, who has worked as a screenplay writer and dialogue writer in a number of successful and acclaimed films.

On the other hand, Harman Baweja, son of filmmaker Harry Baweja and boyfriend of Priyanka Chopra , will be kick-starting his career with dad’s film ‘Love Story 2050’, a futuristic sci-fi love story.

While ‘Love Story 2050’ is a big budget production, ‘Jaane Tu’ is reportedly made at a relatively skimpy budget of Rs 8 crores. The film, a campus love story, has Genelia D’Souza as Imran’s co-star.

Reports have it that Harry Baweja has made an attempt to avoid the clash of debutants and requested Aamir Khan to postpone the release of ‘Jaane Tu’. However, since the film’s post-production work has been going full throttle to meet the release deadline, Aamir is not willing to postpone his film.

According to a trade analyst, the last two Aamir Khan productions have been hits and both have released with big movies – Lagaan with Gadar and Taare Zameen Par with Welcome . Interestingly, in both the cases the films that clashed with Aamir’s movies have also turned out to be hits. So a clash with ‘Jaane Tu’ might eventually turn out to be a lucky omen for ‘Love Story 2050’.
