HOME | SCOOP!! & NEWS | BOLLYWOOD Blogging slogging – Bollywood's newest fad19th May 2008 22.50 IST By Naresh K. Deoshi Move over, size-zero bimbettes. A new fad has hit B-town. It’s called blogging slogging. A dialogue from some kitschy Bollywood movie comes to mind as I sit to write this article. It says: “kalam(pen) mein talvaar se zyada taakat hoti hai.” Since we are living in technologically advanced times and keyboard has pushed all the kalams into cupboard, this dialogue calls for some updating.
And updating themselves to the modern times are Bollywood stars who, after staying away from the most popular Internet fad, have finally given in to the idea of blogging. Not just blogging, they are mixing it with some slogging as well. Many a fan of Aamir Khan were delighted when the otherwise reclusive superstar decided to correspond directly with his fans through his blog on which he shared many personal facts from his struggle to quit smoking to his recovery from hamstring injury. All was well until Aamir unleashed a bombshell with his last blog entry in which he describes a smelly dog named Shahrukh licking his feet and begging for his attention. In one fell swoop, blogging became slogging. Something similar happened on another front where Amitabh Bachchan , whose latest blog has become something of a sensation among Netmaniacs, opened what many felt a veiled attack on Shah Rukh Khan . Known over the years for being politically correct in spoken word, the Big B surprised his fans and peers when he let down his guard and dropped diplomacy from his written words. Through his blog, Big B took on his detractors – be it the Health Minister or a movie critic. But when the megastar posted on his blog the graphs that claimed that TV shows hosted by him have got more ratings (TAMs) than those hosted by SRK and even quoted a rival channel executive as calling SRK’s latest show “Panchvi Fail”, many thought it was a covert attempt by Big B to show SRK in poor light. Big B has denied having had any such intention, and, him being highly respected, we shall accept his word. However, Mr. Bachchan is not the least bit apologetic towards the movie critic whom he booed on his blog and whose “journalistic ethics” he doubts. Amidst this entire hullabaloo, poor Shah Rukh Khan – who is neck deep busy in IPL matches to wonder why the heck everyone is after his skin – has said he is not interested in joining the bloggomania. And he has dismissed Aamir’s tasteless jibe with a dimpled grin and a light remark. After all, wasn’t it a wise man who said: “An eye for an eye makes half the world blind!” Related Aamir Khan Amitabh Bachchan Shah Rukh Khan | CRICKET ZONE Live Cricket Coverage Song Lyrics ALSO READ scoop ~ Aishwarya Rai is a complete foodie ~ Aamir Khan happy with the opening received by 'Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na' ~ Bollywood pins hopes on 'Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na' and 'Love Story 2050' ~ Tamil directors scouting for foreign locales ~ 'Love Story 2050', 'Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na' open to huge expectations ~ Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na : Movie Review ~ Love Story 2050 : Movie Review ~ Pooja Bhatt makes love story of Indian man and Pak girl ( more in scoop ) happenings ~ Trishala says no tension with father Sanjay Dutt ~ Shenaz Treasurywala considers herself a bathroom comedian ( more in happenings ) AKC HOT INDEX ECARDS > New Year, Diwali, Birthday, Valentines, Love, Christmas MOVIES Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, Love Story 2050, Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic, De Taali, Sarkar Raj, Aamir, Mere Baap Pehle Aap, Jannat, Summer of 2007 , Haal-e-Dil, Kismat Konnection , Mission Istanbul , Ugly Aur Pagli , Aashayein MUSIC Kismat Konnection , Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na celebs» the celeb A-Z who's in » Katrina Kaif | Rani Mukherjee | Aishwarya Rai | Gayatri Joshi | Mallika Sherawat | Bipasha Basu | Preity Zinta | Priyanka Chopra | Kajol | Neha Dhupia | Kareena Kapoor | Shahrukh Khan | Salman Khan | Aamir Khan | Hrithik Roshan | Akshay Kumar | Vivek Oberoi | Sameera Reddy | Juhi Chawla | Sneha Ullal | John Abraham | Karisma Kapoor | Zayed Khan | Saif Ali Khan | Madhuri Dixit | Zeenat Aman | Payal Rohatgi | Abhishek Bachchan | Lisa Ray | Dimple Kapadia | Ayesha Takia | Dia Mirza | Sushmita Sen | Amisha Patel | Esha Deol | Amitabh Bachchan | Meghna Naidu | Amrita Rao | Arjun Rampal | Mahima Chaudhary | Amrita Arora | Vidya Balan | Raima Sen | Riya Sen | Rekha | Rakhi Sawant | Rimi Sen | Bhumika Chawla | Nigar Khan | Tanushree Dutta | Yana Gupta | Deepal Shaw | Shilpa Shetty | Celina Jaitley | Deepika Padukone | Ranbir Kapoor | Sonam Kapoor | Neha Oberoi | Nisha Rawal | Sikander Kher | Genelia D'Souza | more... |
