While Karan has already finalized his best buddy Shahrukh Khan to play the lead role in the film, he approached Kajol for the female lead some months back, without getting any confirmed response from the actress.
Despite the fact that Kajol and Johar are good friends, Kajol has hesitated to sign the film because she said she wants to go through the script fully before taking a call.
Earlier, during the release of her last film U Me Aur Hum , when Kajol was asked in an interview about the status of Karan’s film, she said: “I know Karan is a friend enough to give me an option of saying no if I want to.”
But now, latest reports from B-Town have it that Kajol has finally said yes to the project.
Tabloid reports say Kajol read the film’s script a few days back and gave her nod to Johar on Thursday.
However, there has been no confirmation of this either by the actress or by Johar so far.
‘My Name Is Khan’ is partly based on the real story of a couple in the US. The film is reportedly about an autistic Muslim man who becomes a terror suspect in the aftermath of the 9/11 terrorist attacks in the US.
Shahrukh is presently committed to Aditya Chopra’s Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and will begin shooting Johar’s movie after completing Chopra’s flick.
