Shooting for ‘Sarkar Raj’ marked an extended honeymoon for Ash and hubby Abhishek Bachchan after their marriage in April last year. While Amitabh Bachchan and Abhi reprised their respective roles from Sarkar , it appeared that Ash was added to the cast just to complete the family picture and to cash in on the Bachchan brand by casting the three together.
However, at the film’s premiere at IIFA in Bangkok on Friday, Aishwarya cleared the misconception and claimed she was offered the film much before she married Abhishek.
"Ramu had decided to make another film on 'Sarkar' much before the actual filming started. I was offered the film when I was not married," Ash told reporters after the premiere of the film.
"When Ramu finally decided to make the film, the storyline and cast remained unchanged. It will be unfair to say that the film is a deliberate strategy to present all three of us together for the first time after my marriage to Abhishek", said Aishwarya after the film's screening at Siam Paragon Cineplex.
Hordes of fans thronged the venue just to see their favourite Bollywood stars on the green carpet. The Bachchans shook hands with a few fans, gave a few autographs and even posed for photographs.
