She may not have given her nod to documentary filmmaker Ahsan Hyder’s film, but Anoushka Shankar is not keeping secret her desire to do Hindi films.
Anoushka, the musician daughter of the revered sitarist Pandit Ravi Shankar , first showed glimpses of her acting talent in Pamela Rooks’ film ‘Dance Like a Man’. Recently, Anoushka was approached by Ahsan Hyder for an important role in his bilingual film ‘Breaking Free’ in which she was required play a woman under going a crisis of faith.
Ahsan says Anoushka’s western accent and her personality suited the role to a T.
Anoushka expressed interest in the project but turned it down after reading the script. She feels ‘Breaking Free’ is not the right film for her to do.
However, Anoushka maintains that she is open to working in Hindi movies, even mainstream Bollywood flicks, provided she gets a role that catches her fancy.
