Shilpa had planned to give the IIFA a miss this year and rather usher in her birthday in Dubai on June 8, Sunday, by having a birthday bash on Saturday night. But nothing went according to the plan. 
Reportedly, when Shilpa arrived in Dubai on Saturday with her sister Shamita Shetty , her parents, and beau Raj Kundra, she found that a bag containing her birthday dress was missing at the airport. Shilpa says she wasn’t surprised because whenever she travels by air, some of her luggage is bound to get misplaced. This has become a sort of a norm for the actress who has been trotting the globe since last year. Anyway, Shilpa wasn’t bogged down and went to shop for a new birthday costume in Dubai. But as the evening approached, she fell ill. Shilpa hasn’t been in the best of health ever since she shot a song with Sunny Deol in The Man . In the song, Shilpa had to get drenched repeatedly in the artificially-created rain. Ever since that shoot, Shilpa had been suffering sporadic spells of fever. The fever returned on Saturday and Shilpa had to see a doctor. Eventually, the birthday party was cancelled and Shilpa spent an evening with her parents.
