While Ram Gopal Varma has acknowledged a possibility of making ‘Sarkar 3’, the film’s lead actor Amitabh Bachchan thinks otherwise.
The Bachchans and Ramu have been at the receiving end of bouquets and brickbats from critics for their film Sarkar Raj , the second film in the ‘Sarkar’ series. While the movie hasn’t exactly flopped, it isn’t emerging as a hit either.
And it is clear that Ramu has left open a scope for ‘Sarkar 3’ at the end of ‘Sarkar Raj’. The mantle of Sarkar in the next film would probably pass on to his grandson Cheeku or even Aishwarya Rai (who calls for a cup of tea in the final dialogue of ‘Sarkar Raj’, which is symbolically similar to Abhishek Bachchan sipping tea at the end of Sarkar ).
In a press conference at IIFA in Bangkok, Ramu did say that he might make a third version of ‘Sarkar’ in the future. And sharing his opinion is Jaya Bachchan who thinks that the filmmaker should indeed complete the trilogy.
But Amitabh Bachchan is of different view.
“I personally feel he (Ramu) should not. It is best that people ask you 'why not' than 'why did you',” Big B is quoted as saying.
Meanwhile, Mr. Bachchan is overwhelmed by the adulation he is receiving for his performance in ‘Sarkar Raj’. The superstar was moved to tears when after the film’s premiere at IIFA, Karan Johar came to him, touched his feet, and told him he wants to remain there forever.
An emotional Mr. Bachchan lifted Johar and embraced him.
