If you have gotten bored watching one serious film after another in the last few weeks, Priyadarshan’s Mere Baap Pehle Aap promises to drive your blues away. Like almost every Priyadarshan movie, this one too is a remake of a Malayalam movie. But Priyan promises this is his last remake. 
Starring, Akshaye Khanna , Paresh Rawal and Om Puri in main roles, ‘Mere Baap Pehle Aap’ tells the story of a son (Akshaye) who takes care of his father (Paresh Rawal) in old age but is shocked out of his wits when his father begins behaving strangely – like dying his white hair, shaving off the moustache and wearing colourful clothes. The reason for such a change in his father’s behavior is because the old man wants to get married again. And this change has come after the father falls under the influence of his (father’s) friend (Om Puri) who himself is seeking any and every opportunity to get married and is often caught by a bullying lady-cop for eve teasing. The movie, also starring Genelia D'Souza (as Akshaye’s love interest), Rajpal Yadav and Archana Puran Singh , promises a laugh riot in its running time of over two and half hours. If not in mood for comedy, you can try out Sikander Kher’s second film Summer of 2007 , which is about a sensitive issue. The film tells the story of five medical students who live in their own comfortable world. The quintet gets a rude awakening when they visit a village in Vidharbha where they are shocked to see the pain and struggle of farmers. Instead of turning their backs and returning to their cocooned world, the five decide to make a difference and change the lives of villagers for better. Apart from Sikander, the film stars Gul Panag , Divya Dutta , Arjan Baweja and Yuvika Chowdhary. The movie is also the first directorial attempt by newcomer Suhail Tatari.
