To be produced by Karan Johar 's Dharma Productions, the film is Ayaan Mukherjee's directorial debut. 
He has assisted Ashutosh Gowarikar in Swades and Karan Johar in Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna . It is reported that minute Karan read the script he fell in love with it The film will be a Mumbai-based romance about urban relationships and the director needed a pair that seemed incompatible and hence he settled for an unlikely pair of Ranbir and Konkona. The film is about seeking a level of compatibility in a world gone distinctly out of control. Apparently, when Ranbir and Konkona heard the script, they liked it immediately.
