HOME | SCOOP!! & NEWS | BOLLYWOOD Bollywood pins hopes on 'Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na' and 'Love Story 2050'05th July 2008 16.01 IST By Agencies After braving a dull first half in 2008, Bollywood is eagerly awaiting the outcome of 'Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na' and 'Love Story 2050' at the box office as the much-hyped movies, marking high-profile debuts, hit the screens on Friday. Trade pundits are watching the performance of 'Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na' and 'Love Story 2050' which will decide the fate of debutantes Harman Baweja and Imran Khan. 
With the first half of 2008 not providing much fireworks at the box office, trade analysts are pinning hopes on these two films to lead the way in the second half. Trade sources feel 'Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na' a comparatively low budget film would prove to be a tough competitor to 'Love Story 2050', a futuristic sci-fi film made with a huge budget of 10 million USD. 'Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na' has seen much higher advance bookings than 'Love Story 2050', sources added. 'Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na' is giving 'Love Story 2050' a stiff competition at the box office if the first day collections are any indication. Liberty and Maratha Mandir, the single screen theatres in Mumbai screening 'Love Story 2050' said the first day collections were about 70 per cent. Even in the suburbs, at multiplexes like 'Cinemax', the collections were about 70 per cent. 'Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na' had a slight edge with 80 per cent collections. While at 'Fun Republic' the collections of 'Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na' were 50 to 60 per cent and 'Love Story 2050' was about 25 per cent.
