'Singh Is Kinng' is rocking the box-office

Put your hands together ladies and gentleman. Singh Is Kinng has created the record of becoming the biggest ever Bollywood opener at box-office abroad.

Riding on the shoulders of the charismatic Akshay Kumar and beautiful Katrina Kaif , the film has become a rage among the movie buffs not only in India but also in USA, the UK, UAE and even Pakistan.

According to trade figures, the movie by Anees Bazmee raked in a net collection of Rs 8 crore on the first day and Rs 10 crore on the second day of its screening, breaking previous records set in the past 10 years.

At the US box-office the movie has surpassed the opening weekend collections by the previous record holders – Om Shanti Om and Jodhaa Akbar . 'Singh Is Kinng' grossed 2,32,000 dollars against 2,27,000 dollars by 'Om Shanti Om' and 2,09,000 dollars by 'Jodhaa Akbar'.

In UK the film has made a decent 3,37,000 pounds, while in the UAE it has grossed 1.4 million dirhams in the first two days.

In neighbouring Pakistan too, where the film was released on August 8, 'Singh Is Kinng' has opened to an overwhelming response. More and more fans are thronging the theatres to watch the film and the halls are running to packed houses.
