HOME | SCOOP!! & NEWS | BOLLYWOOD Shimit Amin to direct Sonam and Ranbir Kapoor24th Aug 2008 22.00 IST By Agencies Shimit Amin , the director of superb films Ab Tak Chhappan and Chak De India , is all set to direct Sonam Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor for a film under the Yashraj Films banner. The genre of the unnamed movie is still under wraps and the director is giving final touches to the idea. 
Ranbir and Sonam have reportedly given their consent to the project even though their debut film Saawariya bombed at the box-office after which directors shied away from casting them as the lead pair. But Amin has taken the onus to prove the cold pair hot in his next movie. There has been a lot of speculation regarding the relationship of Ranbir and Sonam. Before the release of ‘Saawariya’, the two childhood buddies were said to be going around, then Deepika Padukone entered Ranbir’s life, putting a full stop on Ranbir-Sonam affection. Rumour had it that post ‘Saawariya’, the duo was not on talking terms. Ranbir denied it in the interview and now, after their mutual consent to Amin’s film, it is evident that all is well between the two.
