The actress who hails from Bangalore is homeward bound to celebrate the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi with her family – father Prakash Padukone (the badminton legend) and mother Ujjala. Completing the family picture would be Deepika’s younger sister Alisha, who’s a professional golfer. 
Deepika says she is super-excited about spending some quality time with her family after a long gap. She says it is an annual ritual for their family to get together on Ganesh Chaturthi every year. Alas, she has been missing it for the last three years because of her professional commitments. Even though Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated with great fervour in Mumbai, not the least in RK Studios to which her beau Ranbir Kapoor is linked, Deepika still wants to be with her family on the festive occasion. She has completed the shooting of her action movie Chandni Chowk To China with Akshay Kumar and has a few free days which she has reserved for her family reunion. Deepika will be gone for a week.
