Almost every reviewer has been unanimous in praising the movie and giving it an average of four stars. Given this rating, ‘Rock On’, starring Farhan Akhtar , Arjun Rampal , Purab Kohli and Luke Kenny as the four friends of a rock band, is among the best films to have come out from Bollywood this year. 
Times of India, the country’s leading news daily, has given the movie four stars. Its critic writes: “Rock On is a film that not only breaks new ground in terms of its subject matter…it creates a whole new EQ (emotional quotient) for mainstream cinema.” Hindustan Times, another news daily, gives the film three and half stars. Its critic describes the movie as “a hard candy. You love it, especially in the pre-intermission segment.” Taran Adarsh, the noted trade analyst and reviewer, has gone with the four stars and writes: “Rock On is an amazing experience. The highpoint is the emotional quotient, the skilful performances and the superb execution of the subject.” Even Rajeev Masand, who’s the staunchest of critics, has given the film three stars. Though Masand finds many loopholes in the film, he still approves of it. “There are many things to like about this film. Its little moments reveal so much,” he writes. Our own AKC reviewer has been rejuvenated and inspired to buy a guitar after watching the film. The bottomline is: ‘Rock On’ Rocks. Don’t miss it.
