The sassy girl is now on a roll. Four years ago, Shahana left Delhi for Mumbai to carve out a career in acting for herself. Though she began with theatre, she had the aim of working in films, Bollywood in particular, somewhere at the back of her mind. 
It was because of her theatre background that Shahana got the offer from Naseeruddin Shah to work in his directorial debut Yun Hota To Kya Hota . After that followed another small but important role in Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd. . Though both the films gave Shahana an entry into Bollywood, neither of them brought her recognition. And then, Rock On happened and Shahana became the talk of tinsel town because of her superb portrayal of a bickering wife of Arjun Rampal in the film. Interestingly, Shahana had signed Ru-Ba-Ru , her last release, before ‘Rock On’. Today, Shahana has some very interesting films in her kitty. She’s doing Sudhir Mishra's Tera Kya Hoga Johnny , Nandita Das' Firaaq and Vinay Shukla's ‘Mirch’. Sounds like too much of art-house cinema? Shahana says she is very much open to Bollywood flicks provided she likes her role in them.
