HOME | SCOOP!! & NEWS | BOLLYWOOD How 'Drona' got its title?30th Sept 2008 20.30 IST By ApunKaChoice There is a story behind how Abhishek Bachchan’s latest film Drona got its unique title. ‘Drona’, the name reminds of the great teacher Drona Acharaya, who taught archery to Arjun in Mahabharata. Apparently, Abhishek’s sister Shweta is very fond of the name and many years ago she wanted to name her son Drona, even though the family settled for Agastya. 
But last year, when Abhishek Bachchan and director Goldie Behl narrated the story of their film to her, she suggested that the movie be titled ‘Drona’. Given the movie’s theme and its look, the title ‘Drona’ suited it well. After some deliberation both Goldie and Abhishek agreed that ‘Drona’ is the best title. The rest is, as they say, is history. The movie has Abhishek playing the descendant of a sect that has devoted its life to the protection of a very important secret that could lead to devastating results if it falls into wrong hands. Kay Kay Menon plays the evil magician who wants to get hold of this secret. Priyanka Chopra plays a warrior who protects Drona. The movie premieres in Mumbai on October 1. It releases worldwide on October 2.
