HOME | SCOOP!! & NEWS | BOLLYWOOD Mallika Sherawat's painful transformation from siren to snake03rd Oct 2008 21.40 IST By ApunKaChoice Bollywood siren Mallika Sherawat is going through a lot of physical strain while playing a snake-woman in the fantasy flick Hisss . Mallika is nowadays busy playing the toughest part of her career – that of a woman gradually metamorphosing into a Naagin. The actress has to sit through long make-up sessions and has to put on snake suits before every shoot. 
Just getting Mallika ready for the shoot takes hours. She has been assigned two assistants – one does the make-up on her body, the other on her face. The make-up takes anywhere between 2 to 4 hours depending on which scene she is shooting. Mallika also has to put on huge contact lenses during the shoots. The lenses have to be removed after every half-an-hour to avoid any damage to her eyes. But the most tortuous part is getting into the snake suit. Hollywood’s special effects expert Robert Kurtzman, who’s working on this film, has reportedly got a good number of snake suits for Mallika. The suits are difficult to get into; and once inside, Mallika can’t come out until the day’s shooting is over. Which means that the actress can’t do normal things like eating, drinking, going to the loo, or even chatting on phone when she has her make-up and suit on. Not just this, once Mallika gets into a snake suit, she has to be carried by a few people to the shooting floor from the make-up room whenever a shot is called for. Poor Mallika, we hope her hard-work bears fruit for ‘Hisss’.
