HOME | SCOOP!! & NEWS | BOLLYWOOD Amitabh Bachchan hospitalized on his 66th birthday11th Oct 2008 16.22 IST By ApunKaChoice On his 66th birthday today, megastar Amitabh Bachchan was admitted to hospital after he complained of abdominal pain. According to a family source, Mr. Bachchan was feeling unwell since last night, but on Saturday, amidst the birthday celebrations, the superstar felt pain in his abdomen and was rushed to the nearby Nanavati hospital where X-Rays of his chest and stomach were taken. 
The fans who had gathered outside the Bachchan residence were left in a state of shock. Many followed the superstar to the hospital. After less than an hour at the Nanavati hospital, Mr. Bachchan was taken to Lilavati hospital in an ambulance. The superstar was lying on a stretcher and was taken inside the hospital by his son Abhishek Bachchan , daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai and daughter Shweta. Mr. Bachchan has been admitted to Lilavati Hospital under the care of his family doctor Jayant Barve. When last reports came, he was undergoing medical tests at the hospital. Meanwhile, many shocked fans and mediapersons gathered outside Lilavati Hospital to enquire about the megastar’s well-being. One dejected fan even told a news channel that he would make a huge offering at the temple if Mr. Bachchan recovers soon. Mr. Bachchan has been battling his medical condition of intestines for last few years. In 2005, he underwent a surgery for infection, inflammation and perforation in his intestines at Lilavati hospital. The doctors had back then advised the superstar to avoid hectic work schedules, but Mr. Bachchan has been working tirelessly. Earlier this week, he was shooting Leena Yadav’s film Teen Patti and had taken a day off on Saturday.
