May be more than just coincidence is at work here. For the third consecutive year, an Aamir Khan-starrer will release at Christmas time.Two years back, Aamir Khan managed to ward off tough competition from Akshay Kumar when the latter’s blockbuster Welcome released alongside Aamir’s directorial debut Taare Zameen Par during the Christmas weekend. Last Christmas, Aamir again faced competition from Akshay. But this time the Aamir-starrer Ghajini pummeled Akki’s animation Jumbo at the marquee. 
Since X-mas has been an exceptionally good time for Aamir Khan’s films in the recent past, producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra is taking a cue from this pattern and has decided to release his upcoming production 3 Idiots , which stars Aamir in a pivotal role, during Christmas 2009. The film, currently in the making, has already been shot in Shimla and Ladakh. A shooting schedule is underway at IIM Bangalore. After this, the movie will be shot in Mumbai as well. Many expectations have been attached to ‘3 Idiots’ because besides being Aamir and Kareena Kapoor ’s first film together, it is also the comeback of director Rajkumar Hirani after the immensely successful and entertaining Lage Raho Munnabhai . |
