Akshay 'the superstitious' Kumar

It’s not just a coincidence that Akshay is often abroad on the day of the release of his films. He did it when Welcome hit the marquee last year; and he followed it up with Singh Is Kinng by going on a holiday in the week of the movie’s release in August. Both films went on to become blockbusters.

Now, Akshay is carrying the tradition forward and zipping off to Hong Kong on December 25 when Jumbo (in which he has dubbed for the lead character of an elephant) makes it to the theatres. The actor will be performing at a Christmas show in Hong Kong.


Not just this, Akshay had the film’s release postponed from its original date December 18 to December 25 because of his numerological inclination towards number 7, which the actor thinks is lucky for him.

Dec 18 adds upto 9 while Dec 25 adds upto 7.

Akshay’s first release next year, Chandni Chowk To China , too, will release on January 16, which adds to 7.

Similarly, the movie will have its premiere in Los Angeles on January 7.
