Akshay's equation with new directors

After two back-to-back flops, Akshay Kumar is looking for a hit film to retain his position in the top league. The failure of Chandni Chowk To China and 8x10 Tasveer has dented his reputation as the most bankable star of Hindi films.

Now, with Kambakkht Ishq ready to hit the marquee next month, the superstar hopes the spell of flops would be broken. And he’s not worried about the fact that the film is directed by a first timer named Sabbir Khan .


“I worked with new directors like Abbas-Mustan, Vipul Shah, Sajid Khan, and the films did phenomenal business,” Akshay told reporters in Mumbai.

Talking about ‘Kambakkht Ishq’, Akshay said the film was a rom-com with sleek look.

“It is a romantic comedy. I am doing a romantic film after a long time. The film is technically very superior,” he said.

The superstar added that ‘Kambakkht Ishq’ is not a full-on action film, though it has good enough doses of action.

The film’s leading lady is Kareena Kapoor . Hollywood stars like Sylvester Stallone, Denise Richards and Brandon ‘Superman’ Routh make cameo appearances in it.
