Bipasha Basu relents, to shoot for 'Lamhaa' in Kashmir!

Concerned over her safety in Kashmir, the actress had suddenly left the shoot and packed her bags to return to Mumbai after a crowd watching the shoot went berserk at a location in Anantnag. Though the situation came under control later on, Bipasha had by then already decided to leave Kashmir without informing anyone.

Directed by Rahul Dholakia and produced by Bunty Walia , 'Lamhaa' is a movie set in Kashmir valley. Bipasha plays a Kashmiri girl in it.


Since major portions of the movie have to be shot in Kashmir, Karisma Kapoor (who was the original choice for the role) excused herself from the project over fears of her security. However, Bipasha, being a tough girl, said yes because the role of a Kashmiri girl appeared challenging to her. But while shooting in Kashmir, the situation was so tense that Bipasha actually had to be put up in a different hotel, the location of which was not revealed to anyone.

Sadly, one unsavoury incident of crowd misbehaviour forced Bipasha to leave the shoot in Kashmir. As soon as Bipasha left, the entire crew also marked a sudden exit from the valley. In fact, it was reported that the shooting might get shifted to Manali which has almost the same topography.

There have even been rumours that the film's makers considered replacing Bipasha with Vidya Balan because the movie needs to be shot again in Kashmir in January next year. However, there may not be any need for that as Bipasha has reportedly agreed to shoot the film after assurances of safety from Kashmir's DGP Kuldeep Khuda.

As for now, the shooting of 'Lamhaa' is going on in Mumbai's Film City, where an expensive and beautiful set of Kashmir has been erected. The movie stars Sanjay Dutt in lead opposite Bipasha.
