'Dostana' gets an excellent start at box-office

The movie, starring Abhishek Bachchan , John Abraham , Priyanka Chopra and Bobby Deol , raked in 80 percent collection at the box office in Mumbai on the opening day. Reports say the response to the film is equally encouraging at other places.

In Indore, for instance, the BIG Cinema and PVR chains have reported a collection of 85 percent and 90 percent respectively on Friday.


Moreover, the collections are expected to pick up in the coming days, as most of the prominent critics have given thumbs-up to the film.

The film has been released with 700 prints domestically. Its distributor, Yashraj Films , have chalked out a detailed distribution strategy that is expected to bring in lots of moolah.

A spokesperson of Yashraj Films reportedly said that the movie being a lighthearted comic caper with a homosexuality angle has been particularly liked by the youth as it gives them quite a good laughs.

Produced by Karan Johar and directed by Tarun Mansukhani , the film tells a tale of friendship and love between a beautiful girl and two guys pretending as gays.
