Farhan Akhtar leaving nothing to chance for sister's film

He wowed us all with his riveting performance in Rock On . Now, Farhan plays a struggling actor in ‘Luck By Chance’. But the actor-director-producer is not worried about his second outing as an actor. He wants the film to work in totality.

"I'm not looking at 'Luck By Chance' as an opportunity to further my career as an actor. It is my sister's film and I am the producer. So it is very important for me to see 'Luck By Chance' works in totality," Farhan is quoted by IANS.


According to sources, while Farhan did not interfere with his sister Zoya Akhtar ’s vision for the subject and her direction, he has been taking an active interest in ensuring that the film shapes up well.

The movie, a black comedy about Bollywood, has Farhan playing a struggler and he says playing the role was more difficult than his previous two acting stints – a member of film unit in ‘Fakir’ (not released yet) and a rockstar in ‘Rock On’ – which were intrinsic to his personality.

“But the struggler in 'Luck By Chance' is someone I've seen outside. Every day these hopefuls wait outside buildings, by your car, at the foot of elevators and lifts, to get the attention of filmmakers. Every day they are prepared to be snubbed and humiliated. I've seen these guys' humiliation and desperation, but not experienced them first-hand,” Farhan is quoted as saying.

‘Luck By Chance’ also has guest appearances by many stars, including Hrithik Roshan and Konkona Sen Sharma . The movie releases by the end of January.
