'Ghajini' in trouble over gory violence?

The movie, a vendetta tale with lots of fights, is running in theatres with a U/A certificate. But the petitioner, Pratibha Naithani, a lecturer at Mumbai’s St Xavier's College, feels the movie should get an A (Adults Only) certificate “in the interest of the children” who go to theatres accompanied by their parents.

In the present petition, Naithani claims that the film has "intensely affected children across India" and cited a report about a 3-year-old in Ahmedabad who inscribed the words 'Revenge' on his body, allegedly inspired by similar tattooing on Aamir's character in the movie.


Naithani’s petition is expected to come up for hearing next week.

Meanwhile, in an entirely different development, a Mumbai-based public health institute has lauded Aamir Khan for an anti-smoking scene in the 'Ghajini'. There is a scene in the movie when Aamir bashes up a bunch of guys smoking inside a mall.

Aamir Khan has been sent a letter of appreciation from the institute for sending the right message to the masses.
