How John Abraham sweated to get brawny bod

The actor presently has one of the best, if not the best, sculpted body in Bollywood, acquired exclusively for his role in Karan Johar's production Dostana . But developing that beefcake was certainly not a cakewalk.

John trained under the Hollywood's celebrity fitness trainer Mike Ryan, whom he has known since the days he shot for Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal . Ryan's task on the sets of 'Dostana' was to guide John in workouts, and plan a diet regimen that would help the actor in developing a chiseled look.


Ryan trained John in the 'old school' style in which every body part is worked upon individually. The method is to do a lot of weight-lifting along with cardio exercises. In diet, Ryan prescribed for John a lot of shakes that were high on protein and had only moderate quantities of carbohydrates and fats. In between, the actor was allowed full meals consisting of egg whites, oatmeal, fish, chicken and vegetables.

Even though Ryan guided all the three stars of the movie - John, Abhishek Bachchan and Priyanka Chopra - in this fitness programme, it was John who was made to toil the most because he had to look brawny. And the actor did not complain even once. Rather, he looked forward to exerting himself.

Now, after all the hard work that was put in making John look sexy, the results are there for all to see.

John has become the latest sex-symbol not just among girls but also among guys.
