Imran Khan to play Saleem of Midnight's Children

Deepa Mehta , who will direct the movie, is all set to finalize the movie’s cast. And author Salman Rushdie will also have his say about the actors who should play the important roles in the film.

It is learnt that Rushdie has given his nod for Imran Khan as Saleem Sinai, the protagonist and narrator who is constantly referred to as ‘the nose’ in the book because of his enormous and dripping nose.


The Booker winning author apparently feels that Imran has the talent, if not the big nose, to play the central character of the story.

Earlier it was reported that John Abraham was in contention to play Saleem Sinai. But the news of Imran being approved for the role may come as some relief to the book’s fans who felt John would have looked completely out of place playing ‘the nose’.
