John Abraham shoots at a Mumbai chawl

Director David Dhawan , John Abraham , his co-star Genelia D'Souza and hundreds of junior artists descended at the famous chawl at Grant Road to shoot a song for the UTV Motion Pictures’ movie.

‘Hook Ya Crook’ has John playing a cricketer who resides in a chawl.


The song shows John, Genelia and his friends celebrating the 75th year of the chawl. Choreographed by Bosco, the track has John doing a number of tapori steps.

Shooting at the actual location, John had the residents of the chawl continuously waving to him and calling out his name loudly. The actor had previously shot at the same chawl a few years back (for Taxi Number 9211 ) and he knows the people there.

Once the shoot was over, the chawl residents kept hooting John’s name and the actor obliged them by stepping out to meet them, give them autographs, and have his photographs taken with them.

The movie’s next shooting schedule will be held in Hyderabad.

David Dhawan says he is looking forward to have a lot of fun in that schedule.
