Katrina Kaif to be stripped of oomph

Katrina Kaif is not content being eye-candy in films and is intent on doing roles that challenge her as an actress. After umpteen roles that had her playing the proverbial glam doll, Katrina is now set to be stripped of her oomph.

The man who would do so is director Prakash Jha who wants to present Katrina as a simple, girl-next-door in his next semi-realistic political drama titled Rajniti . The buzz is that Jha wants Katrina to sport a non-make up look for the major part of the film. On top of it, Jha also wants Katrina to undergo training in voice modulation because she is supposed to deliver her dialogues in a different way in the film’s second half.


Katrina’s character in ‘Rajniti’ evolves through the course of the story.

Normally Katrina takes more than casual interest in the styling of her character, this time Prakash Jha is doing so in her place. Since Jha knows clearly how he wants Katrina to look in the film, he is selecting even the fabrics of which her dresses would be made.

According to grapevine, Katrina will sport a small-town girl look in the film. And to begin with, she will shoot with a crowd of around 500 people in Bhopal in the coming days.

‘Rajniti’ is a multi-starrer featuring a host of actors including Ranbir Kapoor , Katrina, Ajay Devgan , Nana Patekar , Arjun Rampal , Vivek Oberoi and Manoj Bajpai .

The movie is believed to be a modern-day adaptation of ‘Mahabharata’.
