Preity and Ash too busy for the small screen

Preity had been roped in to judge the show and was getting an amount close to rupees five crores for it. In fact, according to sources, the deal between the channel and Preity was final. Now, with the delay of IPL, Preity who’s the Kings XI Punjab co-owner has said no to the reality show and has informed the channel about her unavailability.

After Preity backed out, the producers approached Aishwarya Rai. But things couldn’t materialize because of the same problem – lack of time. Aishwarya’s spokesperson has confirmed that she won’t do the show because her dates diary is full. The actress is busy this year with various big projects by directors like Mani Ratnam , Vipul Amrutlal Shah , Rituparno Ghosh , and is likely to do a film with Vishal Bharadwaj also.


Talent hunt reality shows are hugely popular with the Indian audience. And many stars have marked their small screen debut via these shows. Recently, Karisma Kapoor and Sonali Bendre added oomph to the small screen by being judges on such shows. Koena Mitra decided to be part of reality dance show ‘Jhalak Dikhla Ja’ to not only revive her sagging career but also improve her PR.

‘India’s Got Talent’ is going to be unlike any other talent hunt show. Here, like the American version, participants have to showcase their skills. It’s not only about singing and dancing, but stand-up comedy and various other talents will also be judged.

Now after Preity and Aishwarya’s no, the channel is on the lookout for a big star who can be the USP of the show.
