Priyanka turns plain Jane for 'Kaminey'

Vishal Bharadwaj ’s ‘Kaminey’ has Priyanka playing a girl-next-door character of Sweety. “In terms of look, it's definitely not glamorous. In fact, you don't really see me wearing too much make up in the film,” Priyanka is quoted as saying.

‘Kaminay’ would be Piggy Chops’ first release this year. Last year the lady had six releases out of which two – Dostana and Fashion – became money minters at box office. She won over audiences as well as critics with her strong performance in ‘Fashion’ for which she’s won ‘Stardust’ as well as ‘Filmfare’ Best Actress award.


Getting to work with Vishal makes ‘Kaminay’ special for Priyanka. She has donned simple clothes as the look of the film is rugged and grayish. About her character Priyanka says, “Sweety is a very real character. She is a college-going girl in her early 20s and we have tried to keep her extremely believable.”

Priyanka has done comedy previously but ‘Kaminay’ is her first tryst with dark and dry comedy. She is paired opposite Shahid Kapur who is also in a different make-over for the film. Shahid plays double role.

What’s Your Raashi by Ashutosh Gowarikar is another comedy Priyanka is doing this year.

The theatrical trailer of ‘Kaminay’ is out and its release is due for June 5.
