Ranbir and Konkona in Karan Johar's next

Ayan, who is cousin of Kajol , is making his directorial debut with Wake Up Sid . In the past, Karan Johar has been left baffled by the directors who started their career with his production house but then left for better production houses. Now, Karan has made it obligatory for all directors under him to sign contract for three movies.

Dharma Productions fostered directors like Nikhil Advani ( Kal Ho Naa Ho ) and Soham Shah ( Kaal ). But later they moved on to other projects and banners. Karan is quoted as saying: “I want to encourage new-age cinema. I'm really happy to cultivate all this talent”.


Karan is reportedly excited about ‘Wake Up Sid’ and its new director Ayan Mukherjee. Ranbir and Konkana are signed for the film. They make an unusual couple and their on-screen chemistry is going to be the USP of the film.

Karan’s recent flick ‘Dostana’ sees new director Tarun Mansukhani and he is getting new director Siddharth Malhotra for an un-titled venture. Siddharth is grandson of late Premnath and is son of TV producer Prem Kishen.

Apart from these, Dino Morea’s brother Santino Morea is going to assist Karan on My Name Is Khan . Karan also got a shagird in David Dhawan’s son Varun, with whom he is working in his future project.

So we get to see Karan nurturing new talent for our industry.
