Revealed – Ranbir Kapoor as Rocket Singh

Now we know why Ranbir has lately been in hiding. He has been keeping secret his look for the next Yashraj Films production Rocket Singh in which he plays the titular protagonist.

The movie marks the comeback of Chak De India director Shimit Amin and writer Jaideep Sahni after quite a gap. Shimit, who’s doubtlessly one of the best directors in Bollywood, has begun the film, his third, which stars Ranbir Kapoor as a salesman.


To play the Sikh character in the flick, Ranbir has been growing a beard since the last few weeks. The actor was recently spotted with an unkempt bearded look while casting his vote on April 30.

Ranbir has also been learning the fine points of Punjabi for his dialogues in ‘Rocket Singh’. Being a Kapoor it’s not really tough for him to get a decent enough command on the language.

‘Rocket Singh’ will be a funny and evocative tale of a young Sikh and his coming of age. The film, like ‘Chak De’, has an inspiring plot.
