Sanjay Dutt makes a voluntary cut in his pay

Dutt, who had increased his acting fee from a few crores to more than 10 khokha recently, has now taken a voluntary pay-cut. It’s believed Dutt has taken this decision in the wake of the 26/11 terror attacks in Mumbai which has jolted the film industry that’s already battling the ongoing recession in global economies.

On top of it, the debacle of his last few releases – Kidnap and EMI – must have prompted the conscientious Dutt on some serious soul searching. The actor probably realized that charging an acting fee of close to Rs. 15 crores makes no sense.


According to a media report, Dutt has lowered his price to help the film industry get by in these times of financial crunch.

If only more actors would follow the same example.

Akshay Kumar , for instance, is believed to have charged a bomb for an upcoming film. On the other hand, Salman Khan , despite repeated failures at the box-office, continues to audaciously demand whopping acting fee from producers.
