Shahrukh plans unique promotional stunt for 'Billu'

Nowadays, it's all about publicity in Bollywood. Extensive promotions play a crucial role in a movie's success. Aamir Khan turned barber while promoting his film Ghajini . And now it's SRK's turn. He is reportedly inviting 400 barbers from across Maharashtra along with their families to the premiere of 'Billu Barber' later this week.

Well, this news can have balmy effect on the thousands of barbers, who are upset with the word barber being used in the movie's title. Director Priyadarshan is quoted as saying that apart from stars Shahrukh wants to invite barbers to the premiere because the film revolves around a barber's character.


'Billu Barber' portrays Krishna-Sudama friendship in a modern way. Irrfan Khan plays a poor barber from a village, while Shahrukh is his childhood friend who is a superstar.

The premiere is planned for 12th February and Shahrukh hopes that with this move he will further placate the barber community which seems to have already won round one against the superstar by forcing him to drop the word 'Barber' from the title.

Not bogged down by the controversy, SRK's Red Chillies Entertainment is not leaving any stone unturned to ensure that the movie turns out to be a crowd puller. Already as a plan to make the movie look more commercial, SRK has done three item songs with leading ladies of the Bollywood.
