Sonam Kapoor to walk the red carpet at Cannes

Sonam is headed to the 62nd Cannes Film Festival as the young ambassador for the French cosmetic giant L’Oreal. But that doesn’t imply that she is replacing Aishwarya Rai who has represented the brand for many years in Cannes. Instead, Sonam will join Ash as a part of L’Oreal Paris Dream Team and that includes beauties like Penelope Cruz, Naomi Lenoir, Andie MacDowell, Beyonce Knowles, Laetitia Casta, Kerry Washington, Milla Jovovich, Michelle Yeoh, Eva Longoria and Scarlett Johansson.

Welcomed as the youngest member of the L’Oreal team, Sonam will walk the red carpet along with other beauties at the prestigious film fest and pose for photographs.


“Being on the same platform as Aishwarya, for me, is a big deal in itself,” Sonam is quoted as saying.

Anil Kapoor , Sonam’s dad and the star of Slumdog Millionaire will also mark his presence at the festival. He will accompany Sonam for her two-day stay in Cannes and will also walk the red carpet with her.

Sonam is exalted as well as excited because this would be her first visit to France. Unlike other Bollywood beauties who opted for western dresses at Cannes in the past, Sonam plans to wear Indian outfits. She is reportedly carrying Indian dresses by designers Anamika Khanna , Manish and Gaurav. And for a special event she will wear a dress by an international designer.

Though it’s her first appearance before the international media and paparazzi, Sonam is pretty confident of putting every step right. Moreover, she would have her pa in tow.
