Title snip: 'Billu Barber' changed to 'Billu'

The move comes after an objection from an association of hairdressers who felt the term 'barber' in the title was used in a derogatory way.

SRK, who is producing and acting in the movie, spoke to representatives of the Salon and Beauty Parlors Association over the issue. Not wanting any controversy ahead of the film's release on February 13, SRK yesterday said his production house Red Chillies Entertainment will ensure that the term 'barber' is removed from all hoardings.


"We will put a piece of paper on the word barber wherever it can be done in India. We will send teams...Posters and hoardings belong to the production, which is Red Chillies. It is a little expensive to try to change the posters, so, that we couldn't have been done," SRK told CNN-IBN.

The superstar also added that his company did not intend to offend anyone by the use of word 'barber' in the title.

The movie stars Irrfan Khan as a village barber whose life is stagnant until a superstar comes to the village to shoot a film. That superstar happens to be his childhood friend. The movie has SRK playing a brief role as the star and has song appearances by Kareena Kapoor , Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra .

Directed by Priyadarshan , 'Billu' has Lara Dutta as Irrfan's wife.
