UTV to release first look of two films with 'Delhi 6'

The release of Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra -directed film on February 20 is certainly an occasion and UTV is utilizing it to the optimum by releasing the first look of Vishal Bharadwaj’s eagerly-awaited film Kaminay and Ram Gopal Varma’s next spooky thriller Agyaat .

‘Kaminay’ is a comedy about twin brothers with Shahid Kapur and Priyanka Chopra in lead, whereas ‘Agyaat’ is said to be inspired by Hollywood thrillers like ‘The Blair Witch Project’, ‘The Thing’ and ‘Aliens’.


UTV and Mehra’s association started with Rang De Basanti . The movie was a big-time hit and marked a new beginning for the director whose earlier attempt Aks failed at box office. The movie’s running success ushered new openings for UTV in film production at that time.

‘Delhi 6’ is close to Mehra’s heart as it has fond memories of his upbringing in Delhi’s Chandni Chowk area. The movie also had a special screening at MOMA, The Museum of Modern Art, New York. ‘Delhi 6’ is first of Bollywood films to be shown there, as the prestigious museum is not a theatre.

It’s reported that the museum’s curator liked ‘Delhi 6’ so much that he asked Mehra to screen his film there. The director is happy and proud of his film. In fact, no other film ever has been premiered at MOMA.

The movie stars Abhishek Bachchan and Sonam Kapoor in lead.
