After a year of few hit films and many big-budget turkeys, the Hindi film industry can take heart from the good run of the two December releases that are doing well at the box-office.The lull that followed the terror attacks in Mumbai seems to be ending with the last two big releases - Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and Ghajini - drawing crowds to cine theatres and bringing cheer to an industry hit by global meltdown as well. According to the trade pundits, 'Ghajini' has broken all the previous records of advance-booking and is all set to be the biggest hit of the year. 
The Aamir Khan movie's first day collection is almost thrice of Shahrukh Khan 's 'Rab Ne Bana di Jodi'. The Wednesday's paid premiere itself collected 7.5 crores, they add. It is worth noting that the most of the Bollywood's big hits have come post-Diwali season. Be it Dostana , Golmaal Returns and Fashion . The early part of the year has seen only four big budget hits - Race , Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na , Singh Is Kinng and Jodhaa Akbar . According to trade analysts, 'Golmaal Returns' has grossed Rs 90 crore, 'Fashion' Rs 60 crore, 'Dostana' Rs 55 crore, 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi' Rs 100 crore approx (till now) and 'Ghajini' is all set to do better than all the above by the end of only its first week. Earlier, 2008 saw some big flops like Tashan , Love Story 2050 , Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic , Drona and Kidnap . In fact, the industry is reported to have lost close to Rs 600 million in the month of October alone. But the success of the two December releases has brought the smiles back.
