Mega star of Malayalam cinema Mammootty is back in action after a six-month sabbatical. He is facing the camera again for an offbeat film Danny by award winning director T V Chandran.
For the first time Mammootty sports a French beard in a film and looks different. Besides Danny, Mammootty is also doing a Vinayan film which is based on the sensational Aluva multiple murder case. In this film, Mammootty plays a familiar role, that of an investigative officer.
Mammootty, however, is a frustrated man these days. Three-time National Award winner, Mammootty sees nothing challenging in roles that come his way in Malayalam films. Besides, he isn’t content with his roles in Tamil films like Kandukondein Kandukondein. His prestigious project Dubai is in a financial mess, too.
On the other hand, his foray into television has been highly successful. He produced a serial called Jwala which tops the TRP ratings.
