Swashbuckling batsman of yesteryears, Krishnamachari Srikkanth has decided to ‘open a new innings’ on an entirely different pitch.
The former Indian captain will launch a serial titled “Gauthami” for the Kannada Television.
But, then, the dashing batsman is no stranger to TV production. He has anchored many a program, especially those relating to sports. Besides he has also produced serials in Tamil and Telugu.
''There are a lot of challenging jobs and opportunities in Kannada,'' Mr. Srikkanth told a press conference in Bangalore on Wednesday.
Mr. Srikkanth said: ''We are producing serials under the banner of Kris Srikkanth Sports Entertainment Private Limited. Gauthami is the first in line. I plan to come out with more cricketing and non-cricketing entertainment programs for E-TV in the coming months.''
Gauthami, which will be directed by K S R Das and telecast by E-TV, is the story of a woman oppressed by society who ultimately makes it to the top in life. The star cast includes well-known actor Anantnag and Madhuri.
