The steady success of his latest Tamil film “Karmegham” has set Mammootty firmly on the path to super stardom in Mollywood, too.
In “Karmegham”, the two-time national award winner is playing an army man, who kills his own father when he denies the villagers access to drinking water. The restrained portrayal of the film’s protagonist has endeared the handsome Malayalam hero to Tamil film-goers as well.
Mammootty made his Tamil film debut with “Dalapathy” in the august company of redoubtable Rajnikant. Then came “Aanandam” which saw the lawyer-turned film actor consolidate his gains in Tamil tinseldom.
Now, the fabulous run “Karmegham” has dispelled the dark clouds of uncertainty plaguing his film career.
His innumerable fans hope the mega star will stage a spectacular come-back in Malayalam film firmament too in the not too distant future.
All said and done, the smile is back on the face of Malayalam cinema’s macho hero.
